Barbel king is on a distinguished road
Hampton Loade-River Severn

Interested if anyone has fished this stretch recently and what the current form was for the river with regards to barbel catches as I will be there next week. I will either fish the "Barbel alley" day ticket stretch just up river of the blue bridge at Hampton Loade or the meadow past that which is on the Birmingham anglers days ticket stretch. May also spend a day on the day ticket stretch of Appley estate at Bridgnorth. Would be keen to hear from anyone who has fished any of these areas in the past few weeks.

Re: Hampton Loade-River Severn

Have a look at my post on Freshwater Catch reports as I fished exactly the stretch you are talking about last Sunday.
Ferry up is BAA , ferry down is Kinver Freeliners.
If you cross to the unicorn pub side then ferry down is BAA , by campsite (noisy and full of kids) I think is Kinver freeliners. Walk a few hundred yards up stream (maybe a KM) and it's BAA again.

River is low at the moment and there's a bit of weed about.

I assume by blue bridge you mean the treatment works. It's pretty weedy till just before the copse where the bottom clears up.

Have fun.
