Re: Quick Barbel session on River Severn

Don't ask me , how the hell would I know ? I've had TWO since the last post on this thread, both on BAA waters. Hampton Loade and Knowle Sands. I had three cracking bites at Kowle sands so that's where I'll be going next. So based on my success rate you might be better staying around Worcester :)

Re: Quick Barbel session on River Severn

The river wye has always been my second favourite river next to the Taff. Why? I wasn't born within a couple of hundred yards of the Wye :) It's amazing that a river that was pretty much written off (the Taff not the Wye) is now making headlines. Brings a bloody HUGE smile to my face as I fished it when not many others were. The irony of it all was it was always a good roach and chub river. I just hope the big barbel scene does not ruin what is a great river. As for the Wye, probably the most beautiful river in the country.

Re: Quick Barbel session on River Severn

Ive fished the Severn, at Knowle Sands mostly, eight or nine times so far this season, and blanked three times in a row. Just a suggestion on your bait presentation, scale it down. I use just one 10 mm halibut pellet on a short hair, or a lobworm, or a piece of luncheon. All the best
