Productive Barbel Fishing In Lincolnshire - Where?

Well guys, the title gives it away really...

I've ALWAYS wanted a Barbel (I must admit, I've always wanted a big Perch, a 20lb Carp, a bigger Tench, Chub, and a Catfish too, but Barbel are my second favorite fish so meh!), but have no experience with them, and have no idea where to start - BUT, my fishing books have always said, the key to a catch is one of three things, location, location, or location (I.E: You can't catch it if it ain't there). So my question is this:

Which Rivers within Lincolnshire hold Barbel (please give a nearby town or village with the name of the river so I can track it down on AA route finder), and also, are there any still waters that hold them (I know of ONE - Oham Lakes in Maltby Le Marsh, but are there any others?)?

Big county Lincolnshire but if you are on the Notts side then the Trent has a very good reputation for Barbel as the previous post says. As for barbel in still waters, I don't agree with it myself but you would also be depriving yourself of some of the fight you'll get from them in a decent current.

Cool stuff, I'll have to give the Trent a try sometime seeing as rivers are the one kind of water I tend to overlook! As for still water Barbel, I have always been told they're River fish, so it seems natural that that's where I should go looking for them, but it might be interesting to try for my first one in still water - just to get a sense of what they're like before I go diving in, especially seeing as I rarely River-fish (not many rivers down near me, save the Humber which isn't particularly pleasant.
