Hi Guys, wind last Saturday said no go so mate and I drove to Patterson Lakes our nearest launching site
just to have a look, Port Phillip Bay was as flat as your hat and we had 20 knots of easterly breeze blowing,
all I could think was it's perfect WHY? upon enquiring at local tackle shop adjacent to slip was happily told
east is good, 20 knots is good for 5/6 clicks out, above 20 stick inshore a bit. I blame jet lag, beer and not
enough homework, the guys were more than helpful, purchased some gear got loads of info but no numbers, when
I asked about bait, was politely told we've got it all if you're launching here and open at 0500. The following
morning at a sedate 0800 I got a license bait and burly for around seventy dollars,

Have heard some tales of woe about UK slips but was most impressed with these, fee including parking $12

these are either double or treble slips,

We set off down the creek without a clue as to where to fish,

So we did what any one would do....follow someone else, from the first bait hitting the bottom we got bites.

Local name, haven't found out what sort of ray it is, rods kept rattling but couldn't connect, smaller hooks
produced these,

tiny Flatheads by the score, we moved and yet more of them only to be repeated time and again, I'm not knocking
it, sun flat calm sea and fish, but by 1500 it was too hot so we went for a ride to cool off.
