| Hi all, I'm not only new to the Forum but also relatively new to sea angling although I've been fishing for 32 years. I fished Branscombe last night and although I managed a few bites I did not catch. I fished to the right of the car park in line with the first of the wooden cabins. I lost 3 lots of end tackle there so it appears to be quite snaggy. My Son and I visited there a few days previously to check it out at low water and took a good look at that area and we both liked the look of the reef further up to the right, does that produce fish if you fish off of it at low water? I was fishing with macky, squid and frozen sand eels on pennel and pulley rigs and also tried two hook paternosters with small baits to see if there were any pout feeding. I live in Street in Somerset so its a bit of a jaunt ( the Bristol Channel is a lot closer but is a bit quiet this time of year) so I could really do with some advice on location, rigs and baits to help fuel my enthusiasm. Any good advice would be gratefully accepted. Thanks. |

| Hi Lionheart, when you talk about losing a lot of gear aroound the 200 yard mark, are you refering to 200 yards along the beach or 200 yards casting distance? If you're refering to casting distance then I'll probably have no lost gear at all! Cheers mate |
