shore fishing in Turkey (med coast)

Hello all, I need some advice as I am going on holiday to Turkey in mid May and will be doing some shore fishing whilst there. I am told that the beach is quite rocky and rough with strong undercurrets and rip tides. this will be on the Mediterranean coast, and I was wondering what types of fish I may be able to catch, and what advice any of you could give me as to type of tackle and bait to use. I will be taking a telescopic 10ft beach type rod with fixed spool reel and 20lb line. Any/all advice would be appreciated, Thank You, Kev Marsden
