| Hi, can anyone help me. I want to go feathering for mackerel with my son. I love the fish and the thought of my 12 year old son having 4 fish on his line at once would be great. I lve in Kent, can anyone advise where would be best and at what time of year. Plus any other advice would be gratefully recieved. cheers mgreg127 |

| Re: Mackerel Fishing Hi there, Greg .. I know it's a bit late now, but the best place for catching mackerel in Kent is Admiralty Pier in Dover. I think a day-ticket costs about a fiver, but you can certainly load up with them during the June-September period, perhaps a little earlier and a little later. There's plenty of space, as the pier is very long, and this is a good thing as there tends to be a lot of people on the first half when the Mackeral are running .. I'd recommend getting on the first part of the second half, if you can. Make sure you get some "hokai" feathers, as these will produce when others don't. Whereabouts in Kent do you live? I'm from Deal, but live in Maidstone now. HTH, JB. |
