| Re: any places in NE scotland (moray firth) dod...i am based at RAF Lossiemouth which is near to Elgin, Morayshire. I would head towards Aberdeen more personally as the fishing around the Firth aint that good thanks to the trawlers as they rip the ground to bits. But there is still some places that aint too bad for fishing. All along the coast there are loads of little harbours that rarely get fished so it occasionally throws up a decent cod or ling. If you are going there soonish then you will be into the mackerel runs and also the sea trout. Lossiemouth isn't too bad for flatties and trout. Buckie is good after a storm. Hopeman is ok for pollock and wrasse off the cliffs. Petershead is good for just about everything. But be careful of freak waves there. A friend got washed off the rocks. Hope this helps. I cannot remember too many more places as i am not at home at the moment (defending penguins). I shall be back home in late July so if you email me then i shall get back to you with some more places. |
