| Re: info on Seahouses or Beadnall shore fishing around Seahouses and Beadnell can be excellent during the summer months. Keep your rigs simple and hooks big! Fishing is usually over low water from the rocks, casting, I should really say lobbing, your big crab baits into the weed beds. Tackle should be quite heavy, a good multiplier like slosh 20 or 30 and beefy rod such as Greys Appollo, with 30lb. line straight through, and rotten bottom rigs. Baits should be crab (fresh not frozen), which can be collected in the rocks where you are actually fishing, mixed with mussel, on big 6'o Viking hooks, make the baits big. Fish will be mainly cod, codling, wrasse, and the odd pollack and coalfish, the cod will be taking on the red colour now as they take up residency in the kelp, and give you whopping bites, real rod benders! There are a few hotspots, but basically look for any kelpy, weedy areas out at low water , and these, I guarentee will hold fish. Seahouses and Beadnell are ideal for these type of shots. As for boat fishing, just have a walk into the harbours, trips are advertised daily. hope this helps... |
