weekend of 22-24 july

I'm gonna be visiting relatives in shoreham so will take beachcaster (12ft carp rod ) and spinning rod looking for some good marks as last time i thought i'd go coarse style sat by a tidal river with lug up againt a pillar and rag in teh central channel then found out that the lug had hooked into the pillar and the weed had covered the rag but am looking for marks in the shoreham/brighton/surrounding area any ideas? have full use of cars so up to 10miles of traveling is acceptable but I'm sure you've all got marks around somewhere, please help!
Ta Alex

Re: weekend of 22-24 july

Well its been a good 15 years since I live at brighton

So my info is well out of date but here goes

Brighton marine will be a nightmare with all the tourists

Shoreham harbour wall can be ok with the outer side gettin most fish and the inner side for the flatties and mullet but it gets busy in the summer and is only small

The other side of brighton is goring by the sea which is slow but can get fish at night as yet again the beaches get the tourists during the day time

One of the guys down that way will give you more upto date info later

Re: weekend of 22-24 july

Have found a website run by a local angler even has tide times etc, what poundage line should i spool up with, 20? was thinking of using braid for the traces, with 2-3oz leads.
Went to bath on saturday was all full, but did find a fly tackle shop selling orvis size 4/0-1/0 for £1 a pack so i brought some 4/0, 3/0, 2/0, an 1/0, and i thought my coarse hooks (10-4) should cover me the rest. Have jsut found some of the ahi hooks i had in hawai'i will take those, (circle hooks) I like em
