Re: Fishing And Camping Any Ideals

Hi Matt***,

Like yourself I am a camper (Motorhome).

If you are a member of the C&CC then I would suggest that you have a look at their Certificated Sites. They are dotted all over the country and are inexpensive. They have minimal facilities, i.e. toilet emtying point, fresh water and a rubbish disposal area. Some, (not many) have toilet blocks and showers, with electrical hook up for caravans. Lots are within a few minutes of the sea.

Before I had the motorhome, my wife and I used them all the time.

There are many dotted around the Kingbridge - Salcombe area and from about £5 a night well worth the money.

The club also run numerous Temporary Holiday sites in various parts of the country costing around £5 - £7 per family per night.

If you want more information please let me know.

Cheers

Trewhethet Farm campsite near Tintagel. The fishing off the rocks below the campsite is brilliant for Pollack & Mackies. The beach to the left of the campsite is also good for Bass. However the campsite has gone downhill since it was taken over by the caravan club. Miserable sods shut the bar & site shop, then put the prices up. I believe there are cheaper & better campsites in the area though.

Re: Fishing And Camping Any Ideals

There's a camping and caravan club site in Slapton, Devon, just a short walk from Slapton Sands (which are gravel!). Site takes non-members and the beachcasting is good.
