| Need to know Hi, I'm holidaying in Scotland near Loch Linnhe which I believe is a salt water inlet. Can anyone tell me if fishing is allowed and do I need permission from land owners or need a licence. Hope someone can answer this question asap as I leave in 2 days, lol. Thanks all. Jim |

| Re: Need to know yep ....just checked its a sea loch so no permit req// another link. ive pasted below Fishing is a very popular local pastime and it is a usual occurrence to see the lochside dotted with anglers casting off in the hopes of catching a fresh supper! Both Loch Leven & Loch Linnhe are sea lochs and as such, a permit is not required to fish on these waters. Catches from the loch include mostly Trout, Pollack & Coalies. The Glencoe Lochan, around 10 minutes drive from the hotel is a man-made loch stocked with Rainbow Trout. There are also lots of opportunities to fish on the local rivers too. Permits are available in season from The Ballachulish Hardware Store (Tel: + 44(0)1855 811 111). Wild fishing with your very own ghillie is also available locally – ask for details at the Rod & Gun Shop in Fort William or visit www.fortwilliamfishing.com , tight lines |
