where to fish in Hampshire

Just started sea fishing at the ripe old age of 48 ,
where is a good place for a novice to fish within reasonble striking distance
of Farnborough ,Hants ?

You wont go far wrong with the Solent beaches - but the right time of year - does not really pick up until March/April when the Plaice start to appear off Eastney (Southsea).

Eastney beach is a good start point - easy to fish, easy parking, Hayling is also an excellent spot as some of the Gosport beaches (Stokes Bay, Browndown etc).

All good fishing in the summer and early Autumn ...

Best spot IMHO is opp St Georges Road towards the Royal Marine Statue ...

I live in pompey and love the place but it crap for fishing (hill head gosport) or hayling fish much better. I would give them two ago m8.
