Totnes fishing

Hi,

Does anyone know any good fishing spots near Totnes? (As in walking distance). Below the weir, and if I were to drop a line in somewhere below the weir, what would be the best rig/bait.

Thanks,

Saul

floatfish the island......(cant remember its name! opposite the steamer quay).... mainly mullet that far up the river.....they do get the odd flounder in the winter up there and school bass too in the summer..

but the main target species up there is mullet..... fish light floatfish bread with tons of bread thrown in as groundbait.......

good luck with the ducks swans seagulls and everything else that flies round totnes!!!

I think i'll have more problems with the stoned hippies to be honest! hehe

its veir island, I heard you have to have a really light rod, line, etc, for mullet how much does this matter?

EDIT. oh and what depth is best for the mullet?
