| Re: Sea Fishing North Ayrshire I Was At Ardrossan Last Night And Was Talking To A Few Fishermen They Claimed That They Had Been There For 3 Hours Without A Catch . Also The Light House Is Now Off Limits To Fish From. Me And 2 Friends Went Along To Portencross ( 10 minute drive ) . We Caught 12 Fish Between us At A Reasonable Size ... It Was Around 10 Oclock At Night & We Where Using Feathers... EveryBody Was Catching On There First Cast. Very Good Place To Fish But I Reccommend Going Early In The Morning Or Late At Night As The Peir Can Become Very Busy . |

| Re: Sea Fishing North Ayrshire Quote:
That's my home town and fished there a lot til my early 20's, had my biggest shore caught pollack behind the lighthouse wall which picked up a mackerel fillet intended for conger it weighed just over 10lb. Was just out for a few hours pleasure fishing so the fish was returned to fight another day. No mobile or digital camera back then so no pics but still have the memory. Had several people witness the catch 2 of which i,m still friends with. Used to catch loads of wrasse over the back wall and a few congers. I know there are more restrictions on where you can fish now but not fished there for many years. Probably one of the best fish i ever caught. I used to get my tide tables from the harbour office but as already posted by a fellow Scot easy to get online now. Just a wee blast from the past for you. Cheers Steve |
