Re: scarborough or surround

It has been a while since I last fished it so I couldn't really say. I would not fish it in any heavy swell as it is too dangerous. The council used to close the Brigg in heavy weather but it seems to fish well at any time. You can expect Cod and Coalies, Pollack and Makkies. I always used to get a good bag of Coalies from the Green rock area of the Brigg. If you fish along the kelp you should be able to bag a few Pollack too!

Re: scarborough or surround

I would think the usual baits (rag, squid and crab) will work for the Cod and Coalies. I used to just float fish with muscles from the local area. The Pollack seemed to go for Small to medium lures and spinners! Feathers for the Makkies as usual.

As I said it has been a while since I have fished the Brigg, maybe you could PM Paul (upnorth1). He will probably be able to tell you better!

Let us know how you get on though, as I intend to get out there sometime later in the summer with a couple of friends from work!
