| Bangkok cheap fishing Thailand ![]() hmm seems my post got lost so i'll post again ![]() Last week I went fishing at Gnoa Nam. I've lived in Thailand for nearly 2 years. I like to fish most weekends. The cost of fishing here is fantastic. Bungsamran is just £20 a day (1000 Thai Baht). Gnoa Nam also known as shadow lake is £3 per rod for a 12 hour session. 150 Thai baht per rod. ![]() I pay £4 in England and the fishing is not in this league. Anyway I usually tip my guides 200 baht for the day. They are very happy with that. They do all the bait, hooks and tackle even though I can do it myself. After 2 years I should think so ![]() I caught some massive fish on my last day. The biggest a mekong giant catfish of about 90 kilos. I had a few Siamese carp and lots of Stripped catfish. I like shadow lake bacause I can fish 3 rods for the same price as 1 rod at Bungsamran. My air con taxi costs just 200 baht for the 30km trip from Asoke on Sukhumvit to the fishing park. Here: shadow lake: GPS Coords 13.74559 N, 100.37262 E Bungsamran: GPS Coord 13.79858 N, 100.66373E Its hard to find so take a copy of the map for taxis. For bait I used lam at 25 baht a bag (about £0.5). This catches the Mekong catfish and Siamese carp. Stripped catfish are mostly caught on bread. Here's a nice fish I caught. Anyone can do this. It's great and its affordable. Thailand is quite poor and it's very cheap to fish, eat and go out. Hotels here are very affordable for tourists. Have fun. Fishing 3 rods I could have a stripped catfish about every 20 minutes. The mekong catfish don't come as often but they are much bigger and fight harder. I think this place is much better than Bung samran. The fish here seem much bigger. Thee food here is great and the drink is cheap to help with the spicy food ![]() I love this place ![]() |
