Fly Fishing Egypt

Hi all,

I am thinking of a trip to Egypt, has anyone tried flyfishing there and does anyone have any recomendations on area, tackle adn what to expect?

Hurghada is one of the biggest tourist resorts in Egypt. Here you will find everything that you need on a vacation. Here you will find a wide variety of Hotels, Resturants as well as fishing facilities . Everything that will make you vacation as good as possible.

Hurghada is near almost everything. You can combine your vacation in the sun with alot of snorkeling/diving and other tourist attractions in Egypt.

For those of you out there thinking of doing any fishing in the Sharm El Sheikh /Sinai areas , my advice would be to forget it. All forms of fishing and even the feeding of fish is strictly prohibited and can incur thousands of dollars worth of fines.! Many areas are protected under Eygyptial law especially the underwater nature reserve areas.

So Fishing and Eygpyt is a big NO....!

If you're looking at a fishing holiday as opposed to a holiday with fishing then Lake Nasser is the place to go.

I know they have done quite a lot of fly fishing out there for the Tigerfish and Nile Perch, quite a few articles on it and many have tried it.

Fishing on the lake itself is certainly an experience, a fantastic place, miles from anywhere and anything !!!

I went out there with Tim Baily and African angler and had a great time, no monsters but a good week, We had no 'fluff-flingers' on our trip but I'm sure they would be willing to accomodate you.

Just got back from egypt mate (hurgada) was looking to do bit of fishing , but its strictly banned from the shores and as pointed out so is feeding the fish , there very very strict about that , however we did take a submarine trip as a consolation , was bloody brilliant have a look at some pics here ......
