Re: Species Hunt 2007

how about excluding catches of carp from commercial fisheries? River carp are still little b****rs too catch!

You should try for a true wild carp John. They can be almost un-catchable. Read some of the books from the 1960s 70s by anglers like Richard Walker & you will see what I mean. Most modern commercial fisheries are way overstocked, but if you can find a lake with a small population of Carp, they can be a real challenge. Old estate lakes are good. You may spend days or weeks without a bite though. Thats when watercraft really counts.

I m only joking about Carp Ian although at carp fisheries they can be ridiculously easy to catch.
As a kid i used to fish an old brick works with some real monster carp in it,these carp were imposible to catch and a real challenge which i never saw completed.

I had realised you were only joking John, but it's a sad fact that overstocked Commercial Carp puddles are making watercraft skills & all round anglers a thing of the past. If you took some of the modern so called expert fishermen & put them on a river or unstocked lake & took away their boilies & pellets etc, they would'nt have a clue.
