Thumbs up Re: Species hunt 2008

I think the current formats OK. Part of the fun of the species hunt is finding a partner who fishes for species that you normally don't & hopefully learning & trying new types of fishing.

Re: Species hunt 2008

I'm new to all this but will be happy to give it a go. I'm available if you fancy a partner Twiddler!!

Might even be persuaded to try this sea stuff as well (only in summer).

Nice one Neil you on between us we can get the course fish in no time......and sea fishing, no worries I'll take you out...I'm even planning on a few wrecking trips next year aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand my friend John aka monkey nuts' has a 'nutshell' (little boat), I'm sure he will take me out on a few trips too, to get some species.

All you have to do now is think of a name for our team

Re: Species hunt 2008

Me and PlanktonBoy would like to enter. we shall be the GratefulReceivers. And that name shall become legend.

Is it gonna be split into sea and freshwater or combined?
Have no intention whatsoever of sitting around a muddy pond waiting for a fat goldfish to lumber past looking for an easy meal.

Re: Species hunt 2008

I'm with you on the split tony and was thinking of teaming up with another sea angler(have in mind).....but if its not split then don't think there will be much point.....cant see there being any problem in splitting it.

Ollie.

Re: Species hunt 2008

Why can't we have three seperate comps?

We keep the same format, (I.E. Teams of two anglers, only fish from the list, photo = +1/2 point, fish must be in a report), but scores count in three categorys, fresh water only, salt water only and combined. That way if you want to compete in the fresh "league" you can, if you can't fish without waves on the water, that's cool too, and if you just can't pass the town fountain without wetting a line AND you trail a set of feathers off the back off P&O's finest you're all catered for as well.

I guess there'll be a lot of adding up needed come the end (and half way) to sort out the scores, so if any help is required I'd be more than happy to get the calculator out.

Baggie Rich's format sounds like a sensible option.
